Men thrive on brotherhood, mentorship, and apprenticeship. But today's societal landscape has lost this art of mentorship for men. We have a more difficult task ahead of us to seek out mentors, join online communities, and put ourselves out there to be sharpened and grow through life together. Although it's much more difficult for our generation, the task ahead of us as men is to reforge this structure in the Church. Digital communities, paid communities, and the physical local church are places to start.
What happened to mentorship for men?
Many of us wouldn't think of Daydreaming as an addiction, but it can become maladaptive daydreaming and a form of dissociation from life. God has called us to walk out our faith and to be at the ready. When we fall into patterns of disconnection and passivity it can hinder us from stepping out by faith into our calling.

Sometimes we strive for reaching a moment, but growth in Christ is a journey. Don't fail to look back and see the ways God has impacted your life over the years. These are the markers to remember and keep close to your heart as you look ahead.
Remember the markers in your life when God did great things
The body of Christ is made up of DIFFERENT members. Difference is not inadequacy, but sometimes we can see the gifts in others more clearly than the gifts God has given us. We make the mistake of feeling inadequate when we compare ourselves to others rather than rejoice in how we can complement one another in the Body of Christ. You may have a different gifting which isn't lesser, but it doesn't have the same appearance as others. Be encouraged, God has gifts for you through which to serve others in Christ.

Revelation 2-3 is God's letters to the churches to commend and rebuke for edification. This doesn't only benefit those churches of the past, but it strengthens us TODAY. We can learn a lot from these letters in our walk and apply the same sharpening to our own lives.

Mark 4 can show us a lot about the soil of our own hearts and how deeply the roots of the Gospel can go. $ocky soul will produce shallow roots which can easily be destroyed by trials and testing. But the good soil produces strong roots with fruitful plants. Cultivate the soil of your heart.
The Deep Roots of Personal Relationship
God has a heart to save people, even people we may see as lesser or hard to love. Jonah learned this lesson when God called him to reach the people of Nineveh. Jonah didn't want to go, but God was working on his heart and showing Jonah the love He has for people. Who are the people of Nineveh in your life today?

Don't just try harder and strive more. Sometimes God is leading us to that place of surrender where we cast our cares upon Him so that He can heal us. You may be exhausted and feel too tired to take any steps, but God isn't expecting you to shoulder what you have been carrying yourself. Cast your anxieties upon Him.
Stepping into Surrender
God does not lead us down dead end roads, Jesus came that we might have life abundantly. We all go through trials where we have heavy thoughts and heavy feelings. You are more than your thoughts and feelings. God wants to build up your spirit man in Jesus. God has a hope and a future for you, be encouraged.
