Entry Points

Entry Points are areas through which our enemy often tries to attack us. They may have been times in our lives when we were significantly spiritually or emotionally wounded and never fully recovered. They may be areas of bitterness and anger in our hearts where we never forgave someone. Until we can be healed by Jesus in those areas, or release others in forgiveness, these entry points can often be a place of constant attack by the enemy in our lives.

Think of entry points as broken parts of our walls of defense. When there is somewhere in our lives where we haven’t rebuilt together with Jesus, the enemy likes to use those places to breach the wall and really get to us. The enemy will use these attacks in order to try and divert us from sharing the Gospel or living in the freedom we’ve been called to. They are easy points of attack which exploit our weaknesses.

The good news is that God doesn’t leave us with these broken walls for the enemy to continue to attack us through. Jesus heals our hearts and helps us rebuild these broken walls so that the enemy can no longer get through those places. This doesn’t happen in an instant – it takes time to remove the heavy rubble and start to patch up the hole with bricks.

We can’t fix the entry points on our own. The world’s solutions of therapy and psychology may reveal the entry points and help us identify them, but only Jesus is the healer of our hearts.

Try This

Set aside dedicated time in prayer to ask God to reveal areas in your life where you’re still dealing with hurt, brokenness, and unforgiveness.

When God reveals those places which need to be healed, picture yourself carrying the burdens to Jesus and lay them down at the foot of the cross.

Ask God to release you from hurt and brokenness, and to heal your wounds. If there is unforgiveness, bring that to Jesus and ask Him to lead you through forgiving others by the power of His blood.

Sometimes the entry points are difficult to see until the enemy starts to attack us through them. That’s often when God shows us where we still need healing. We also need the discernment and guidance of Holy Spirit to reveal it to us. Holy Spirit will often reveal areas of our lives that need healing which we didn’t even know were there. That is why it’s so important to not try to fix ourselves, but to trust the Lord to lead us through the journey of being healed by Him.
